Chapter One :Chapter 1

Bad guys have always admired good girls, why you ask? It’s the innocence, the naivety of the woman that peaks their interest. They accept all the mans flaws because they are hopelessly in love.

There is such a thing as soul mates and twin flames.

A twin flame is chaotic, a disaster or passion and pain. But they are the best kind of love, all consuming and destruction.

A soul mate is calming and intense, they wrap around your heart and never lets go. Soul mates have a connection that runs deeper,  imbedded in there bones. If I feel pain, they know how to comfort. The list is endless, they help you evolve into a better version of yourself.

The question is whether you want to burn with love or feel safe with it.

People mistaken them, you always want the heart racing kind of love.

But those kinds of love always ends in tragedy.

I would know.

Drug addiction is the worst, it consumes your life and the people around you. The worst types of parents are the drug addicts because they sacrifice anything for that moment of ecstasy, to have that high they craved for a whole hour.

I’ve spent my entire life cleaning up after my parents, moping up their vomit, paying the electricity bills, buying food with stolen money. I admit my life wasn’t that grand to begin with therefore I can’t live a righteous life if I want to survive.

My parents are always high, a needle in there arm or a line of Coke to snort. You name it, they have begged for it. There drug dealer doesn’t even supply them anymore because they never pay there debts.

I’m about done with all these loan sharks constantly up my ass about money. I don’t snort there supply, why should my parents misfortune fall upon me? Isn’t it enough that I keep them alive.

“Dawn, you can’t go. We are a family" my mum cries but those are fake.

The pale skin in contrast with the purple bruised lips, cracked and filled with sores. Her hair is greasy and a mess, the knots can be spotted even from this distance. She is practically disintegrating into thin air, her ribs can be seen through the thin vest she is wearing.

“I am done with this bullshit. I’m not working just for you assholes to steal my money and spend it on coke. I make fucken ten dollars an hour. Maybe if you guys got a job then you would be able to pay for your addiction, I’m not going to stay here and get all my money stolen. Unlike you, I actually want to get away from this fucken place" I stated, I hated being in this household.

Working myself for over twelve hours a day, seven days a week. When these assholes just steal it without a care of how hard I work for it.

“Don’t raise your voice at us, we are your parents. Besides there was no food in the house, did you want us to starve?” my dad scolds, as if his tiny figure was intimidating when he is shorter than my mother.

I chuckled. “Honestly I don’t mind if you starve to death"

They weren’t solemn that I was leaving, it’s the money they are afraid of losing. Those lifeless eyes already speak volumes, hollowed cheeks that remind me of a skeleton. Sweat and dirt coated there clothes, anyone can mistaken them for homeless people. They will be since I’m not going to stick around to keep a roof over there heads.

I could care less, that attachment to my parents is non existent. There voices become white noise as I carry my belongs in a small duffle bag, quite pathetic that this is all that I own.

The cold night hits my skin, reminding me that I’m not dead yet. Summer is waiting in her car, smoking a joint as she listens to an audiobook.

She is obsessed with those psychological thrillers of recently and the urge to sneak up on her is so strong.

However I hold myself back, this wasn’t the time.

Jumping into the passenger seat, I throw my bag in

the back. Completely drained from this ordeal, this where the real headache begins.

Summer probably analysed my expression, switching her audiobook off and starting the car. She throws the last bit of her joint out the window and pulls away from this shitty dump.

My parents were becoming shadows, shrinking with each distance that grows. When they disappeared, all the tension that ravished my bones finally settled. I expect regret to radiate through me but it never did, I couldn’t be more happy to leave that shit hole.

“I’m feeling for McDonald’s" Summer voices, taking a turn to the drivethru.

I laugh at her when she orders a large Cajun Chicken Meal, twenty piece nuggets, Mcflurry and a chocolate oreo shake.

“You got the munchies bad" I laugh.

“He gave me a strong one”

We pull up in the parking, Summer setting up all her food along the dashboard. I opt for the nuggets and sip some of her oreo shake.

“What you going to do now?” she questions, taking a spoon full of ice cream.

I shrug. “Sleep on the streets"

“You left without a plan, dumb bitch" punching my shoulder.

After a pause. Summer declares “You staying with me”

I smirk. “Aw, aren’t you the sweetest best friend in the world”

“This ain’t for free, you gonna be servant" she points but that’s not true.

“Whatever you say”
